CKHAF 50/50 fundraiser returns

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation's (CKHAF) Igniting Healthcare 50/50 Fundraiser is back, with prizes to be won every Friday in April.

This is the first ever Spring 50/50, which will last from April 2 to May 3, with proceeds going towards the Highest Priority Needs at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA).

In December, the foundation held the inaugural Holiday 50/50 that resulted in a $59,545 jackpot win for an Erieau woman. The CKHAF said they hope to exceed that total tis time around.

"These 50/50 campaigns have had such a profound impact on our hospital over the past five years, and we are so excited to kick off our first lottery of 2024 to see just how much of a difference we can make together this year,” CKHAF President and CEO Christine Mitchell said, thanking the Chatham-Kent community for taking part in previous fundraisers.

"In our current healthcare landscape, the greatest needs and priorities of our hospital are always changing, which makes it so important for our Foundation to remain responsive and adaptable in our commitment to meet these evolving needs," Mitchell added.

The grand prize jackpot will be awarded on May 3. In addition, locally donated early bird prizes will be awarded every Friday in April. Those prizes include:

  • April 5 – Chilly Moose Cooler (valued at $649.99) - provided by Schinkels' Gourmet Meats

  • April 12 - $1,000 prize - provided by Lambton Conveyor Ltd.

  • April 19 - $1,000 prize - provided by Chorley & Bisset Ltd.

  • April 26 - $1,000 prize - provided by the Glasshouse Nursery & Garden Centre

"We love this 50/50 because it gives us a chance to give back to some of the amazing people who support our Foundation each year, and nothing makes us happier than surprising someone with a great big cheque," Mitchell said. "And since we all rely on the services that our hospital provides, when you purchase a ticket for this fundraiser, we all end up winning."

Tickets can only be purchased by Ontario residents over 18 years of age and are available online or at the CKHAF office (9 Ursuline Ave, Chatham), Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
