A new record has been set for the number of stuffed animals collected by the London Knights at Budweiser.
The Knights annual Teddy Bear Toss was held during Tuesday night's game against the Sarnia Sting.
Fans didn't have to hold on to their bears for long as rookie Jared Woolley scored the first goal of the game just five minutes into the first period. The goal was also the first of Woolley's career. It sent a record 11,924 stuffed animals raining down from the stands to the ice.
After having a little fun holding and jumping into the piles of bears, the team removed the donations from the ice. Those stuffed animals will be given to the Salvation Army for children in need.
The Knights went on to beat the Sting 4-1.
Their next game is set for Friday at Budweiser Gardens against the Saginaw Spirit.
