Mannequin placed near Hwy. 401 prompts hate investigation

Oxford OPP received several calls about what was believed to be a person in crisis near the highway at Dodge Line around midnight on Sunday.

When officers and paramedics arrived on scene, they found an artificial figure with obscenities scrawled near it in full view of the highway.

Exactly what was written has not been disclosed.

The incident has been deemed a hate motivated crime.

Police stressed they take hate/bias motivated investigations seriously and are asking anyone with information to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477 (TIPS).
