The federal New Democratic Party (NDP) has nominated Lindsay Mathyssen as its candidate in London-Fanshawe for the next federal election.
The decision was made on Sunday.
She was first elected as the Member of Parliament in 2019.
"I am honoured again to represent and fight for the people of London. It's been an incredible privilege to advocate for London in Ottawa and continue to work on making life more affordable and bringing down the cost of rent," Mathyssen said.
In a news release, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said Mathyssen has been an advocate for London.
"From taking on the rampant culture of sexual misconduct in the military to standing up for London tenants paying high prices and worrying about renoviction," said Singh. "There is no doubt she will continue to be a powerful voice for Londoners," he said.
During her time in office, the NDP has secured a national dental care program, the doubling of the GST rebate and legislation that will help workers fight for better wages and working conditions.
