One person was taken to hospital after a crash that sent an SUV into a line of evergreen trees west of Delhi.
The single-vehicle crash happened on Highway 3 near Schafer Side Road around 8:15 a.m. on Thursday. According to Norfolk OPP, the vehicle went off the road near the guardrail, travelled along the gravel shoulder and into the ditch before crashing into a row of evergreen trees.
The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
"Things can happen on bright, beautiful sunny days," said Constable Andrew Gamble. "That's why it is extremely important to always be aware of your surroundings, be extremely vigilant regardless of your destination, regardless of what the weather and road conditions are like on any given day."
Gamble also extended the OPP's thanks to the off-duty firefighters who stopped to help the driver following the crash.
"Your service to the community is truly appreciated," said Gamble.
