Rapper, children's entertainer among 2024 London Music Hall of Fame inductees

The London Music Hall of Fame has three new inductees.

Rapper and presenter Shad, children’s music artist Glenn Bennett, and 1960s pop group The Capers have been announced as the Hall of Fame class of 2024.

“As we honour distinguished musicians and music community builders from our area, we uncover the tremendous impact the class of 2024 Hall of Fame inductees have had in our region and around the world," said London Music Hall of Fame Chair Mario Circelli.

Shad was born in Kenya and raised in London. He is a two-time Forest City London Music Awards winner and Juno nominee. Bennett produced and starred in his own kid’s television show and released several top selling records with BMG music. The Capers have described themselves as being “incomparably versatile and have an international following in pop, funk, jazz, country, and rock and roll.

Circelli applauds the three inductees for carrying the London, Ontario banner across the country and around the world .

Three other individuals have also been named 2024 Lifetime Achievement honourees for their contribution to the music community over several decades. The recipients are long-time radio programmer and concert promoter Ian Davies, DJ, venue manager and music promoter Siva Markandu, and Embassy Hotel owner and operator Helen Haller.

The Hall of Fame inductees and Lifetime Achievement honorees were selected by a steering committee and the Forest City London Music Awards Board of Directors. They will be recognized as part of London Music Week at the Forest City London Music Awards on June 16.
