Police seek additional victims of London assault suspect

London police believe there may be other victims of a 31-year-old man accused of trying to buy sexual services and assaulting a woman at a south-end hotel earlier this year.

According to police, a woman was contacted by a man about sexual services she had advertised online. The pair agreed to meet at a hotel on Wellington Road, south of Bradley Avenue on February 25. However, once the two were face-to-face they got into a dispute and the woman called another woman to help get the man out of the room.

When the second woman arrived she was physically assaulted, suffering non-life threatening injuries.

The woman called police and the human trafficking unit began investigating.

A suspect in the incident was identified and on May 6 a home in the area of Wonderland Road South and Commissioners Road West was searched. Police seized 81.1 grams of cocaine, 28 oxycodone pills, 4 hydromorphone capsules, $315 cash, and three cell phones.

Dylan Barclay Broadbent, 31, of London was arrested. He is charged with assault causing bodily harm and obtaining sexual services for consideration. He has been additionally charged by way of warrant with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of drugs.

He remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in London court on May 28.

On Friday, police released a photo of Broadbent to the public. Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information or who has had similar dealings with the accused to call them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
