Three decades of lotto play has finally paid off for a London man.
Dean Agnew won the $70,828.60 second prize in the August 2 Lotto Max draw.
The retired auto worker has been playing the same numbers for 30 years. He said when he went to the store to check his ticket he was shocked to discover the five-figure win.
"I asked the store clerk to come check my ticket with me, because I thought something was wrong," Agnew said while picking up his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. I scanned the ticket again and his face lit up – he was so excited and happy. He said, 'I've never seen anything like this.' I was caught right off guard. I was so shocked and surprised."
Agnew said he plans to manage his money wisely and do a few home renovations.
"I am so grateful for this win," he said.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Ins Market on Wellington Road in London.
