One person was hospitalized after an argument in downtown Simcoe turned violent.
According to Norfolk OPP, three people became involved in a heated verbal dispute in a public space on Norfolk Street South around 5 p.m. on Friday.
The confrontation escalated with one of the people being physically assaulted. That individual was taken to hospital for injuries described as significant, but non-life threatening.
A 36-year-old man and 44-year-old woman, both from Norfolk County, were arrested.
The pair have been charged with aggravated assault. The woman was additionally charged with failure to comply with a probation order.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
