Poodle Bite Sends Teen To Hospital

Police in Norfolk County are looking to speak to the owner of a poodle after the dog bit a teenage boy who had to have the injury treated in hospital.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Wednesday around 8:15pm, a 15-year-old boy was walking along the sidewalk on Main St. in Port Dover when he was bitten by a white-coloured poodle.  The dog's owner stopped to see if the boy was okay before walking away. However, it was later discovered that the dog had caused a serious non-life threatening injury and the teen had to be at taken to hospital for treatment.

Police were notified of the incident on Sunday and are now looking to speak with the owner of the dog, who is described as a woman in her 40s. She was walking with another woman at the time who was walking a small white dog as well.

Anyone with information that can identify the owner is asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
