London airport to offer more flights to Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver

It's going to be a busy summer at the London International Airport.

This summer's flight schedule was released by the airport on Friday and includes increased flights from multiple airlines to several destinations.

Starting in May, Air Canada will bump the number of flights from London to Toronto up to four times a day. WestJet will also amp up its non-stop service between the Forest City and Calgary with a daily flight in May. That will be further increased at the beginning of June to twice daily.

"These flights offer great opportunities to connect to any destination in the world, while taking advantage of the stress-free YXU travel experience and supporting your local airport," the airport said in a statement.

Those who want to travel on a budget will also be able to look to low-fare airline Flair. It will be offering five flights a week from London to Calgary and a twice weekly route from London to Vancouver beginning in June.

A new charter route from London to Nashville, Tennessee is also coming to the airport. BST Vacations is offering the vacation package with a private charter out of the London airport September 26 to 29.

"We are thrilled to introduce a new era of travel with our exclusive charters at London International Airport," said Rob Blowes, vice president of BST Vacations. “This is not your run of the mill travel experience - food and beverage are included on the outbound flight and are all locally sourced...Continental breakfast and in-flight meals are handpicked and made to order the morning of the flight, and beer and wine are from local breweries and wineries.”

This focus on locally sourced food and drink is a departure from regular in flight offerings, which are traditionally the responsibility of the airline.
