A test drive by two prospective buyers quickly turned into a vehicle theft in Woodstock.
According to Woodstock police, a resident, trying to sell their vehicle on Kijiji, was contacted by a potential buyer who requested a test drive on Sunday. Two people arrived in the area of Chandler Terrace and Edinburgh Drive and, with the seller in the back seat, took the vehicle out for a drive.
When the three returned to the location, the seller exited the car and was approaching the driver's door when the potential buyers shifted the vehicle into reverse, backed out of the driveway and drove off.
The vehicle is described as a black 2010 Ford Fusion.
Police describe the suspects as a short woman with a tan complexion, and husky build and a tall, heavy set man with a tan complexion, and scruffy facial hair. The woman was wearing all dark clothing and prescription glasses, while the man had on a matching Adidas jacket and pants, a black hat, and dark shoes. The man was driving the vehicle and the woman was a passenger, police said.
Video of the pair was released to the public on Wednesday in hope someone will be able to identify them.
