London airport breaks ground on new private facility

London International Airport has unveiled its first look at a state-of-the-art private facility, set to redefine the region's aviation landscape.

Construction of the project started Friday with a groundbreaking ceremony for the new 150,000 square foot aviation facility at YXU.

The new facility, designed by 360 Smart Design, will feature a large space with hangar, lounges, office space, and a rooftop patio.

"These facilities are the gateway to London for anyone flying privately into our airport," said President and CEO of the London International Airport Scott McFadzean. "This is a game changer for our airport and we are excited to see this project come to fruition.”

“We are excited to bring this transformative endeavour to London and enrich the aviation landscape in London, Ontario," said President of ADJ Group of Companies Andrew Charabin. "Our new aviation facility will not only enhance the accessibility and convenience of air travel but also foster the economic growth and vitality of the region.”

The facility is expected to be ready to hangar planes this winter. A grand opening ceremony is planned for spring 2025.
