A three-pointer from Doug Herring Jr. sealed a win for the London Lightning Sunday afternoon.
The basket gave the Lightning a lead with 13 seconds left in the game and they held on to beat the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans 136-133 at Budweiser Gardens.
It was the fourth straight win for London, who have an 18-8 record, the best in the NBL.
The Lightning's starting five all scored in double-digits. Ryan Anderson led the scoring with 26 points, including eight-for-13 in three-pointers. He also earned a double-double with 12 assists. Royce White added 22 points and Julian Boyd chipped in 20. Boyd also led in rebounds with ten for a double-double.
Kevin Rogers led the Titans with 36 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double of his own. Justin Hurtt and Derek Hall each had 21 for K-W.
It was an even contest throughout. London took a 28-22 lead after the first quarter, but the Titans roared back for a 65-63 halftime lead. The Lightning outscored the Titans 73-68 in the second half.
The scene shifts to Kitchener-Waterloo Monday as the two teams complete a home-and-away series in a Family Day matinee.
