Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island invites residents to check out what they can do in their community this summer at the 10th annual Staycation Expo.
The expo, at Devonshire Mall this Friday and Saturday, will highlight the region's top tourist attractions with over 50 exhibitors of tour operators, wineries, and a local artisan market.
"We'll have a number of different tourism operations and locations that are trying to promote their venue and draw visitation to their particular operation this summer," said TWEPI CEO Gordon Orr.
Orr said this gives the tourist organizations an audience with 10's of thousands of people visiting the mall on the weekend.
"This is really to help educate the locals, to give them the education and what's happening in their own backyard because our biggest visitor segment actually are friends and family from out of town," said Orr. "Instead of them sitting around their dining room table or on their living room couch get them out and explore the region."
Copies of the latest TWEPI visitor's guide will also be available at the expo.
"We've got great stories, we've got itineraries, we've got things to see and do in each one of our towns and municipalities across the great region of ours. It's our primary marketing piece," said Orr.
