Several charges have been laid against a London man in connection with a shooting and two attempted car thefts.
Haris Masic, 33, of London was arrested Friday in the area of Frontenac Rd. Officers seized a firearm and a vehicle.
The charges stem from incidents in the Westmount area. On Saturday, February 10 police were called to the parking lot of Westmount Shopping Centre. A young man and woman were approached by a man who tried to steal their vehicle. The woman reported seeing a muzzle flash of a weapon being fired.
A similar incident happened on March 29, when a man was shot twice and a woman assaulted with a weapon in the parking lot of a park in the area of Viscount Rd. and Wonderland Rd. Both the man and woman were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Masic is charged with:
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Aggravated assault
- Two counts of robbery with intent to steal
- Robbery with a weapon
- Wearing a disguise
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Two counts of using a firearm to commit and indictable offense
- Three counts of pointing a firearm
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for committing an offence
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence
- Occupying a vehicle with a firearm
- Two counts of possession of a loaded regulated firearm
- Two counts of possession of a loaded regulated firearm
